Turok 2 Seeds of Evil Modding/Mapping / Turok 2 Mini Tweaks

I completely forgot about this mod I made a while back, too busy playing Survive™.
Anyway, this mod bring some quality of life tweaks to the game I always wanted the original to have, the features:

-Some weapons have a simple clean zoom and a new crosshair (toggle it using the sniper scope key):
 *Mag60
 *Shotgun
 *Charge Dart
 *Firestorm Cannon
 *Tranq Rifle
 *Flamethrower
 *Harpoon Gun
-Decreased max Tek Arrows from 12 to 8
-Increased max Tranq ammo from 15 to 20
-Decreased max Charge Dart ammo from 40 to 30
Various others tweaks

That's pretty much all there is to it, simple and straight to the point.

I had this idea for a while and finally decided to bring it to fruition.

While you can play this map using the editor, it's true purpose is more of a tool to help new mapmakers build their own maps. This map contains all enemy actors in the game save for bosses and the turrets from level 7.

Players new to the editor may find messing around with actor properties a daunting task, but with this, they no longer have to worry about that. Simply open this map using the editor, select whatever actors you may need (CTRL+SHIFT to select multiple actors), copy them (CTRL+C), open/create a new map and paste them (CTRL+V) there.

Finally, after nearly three months, 2 calvados bottles (actually just half a bottle) and enough patience to wait out the heat death of the universe, I give you 洞爺湖 (toyako), my very own Turok Dinosaur Hunter map:

STORY AND DETAILS:

On his way back to Earth, Tal'Set falls into a dimensional vortex that deposits him to a remote area of the Lost Land where an earthquake ravaged an ancient city centuries ago, the local populace do not take kindly on travelers and will shoot first and ask questions later. Find your way out of there by collecting 3 keys scattered through the map!

The mod consists of 3 parts, the map, a player movement mod and lastly a music update.

The map itself isn't something too amazing, it's merely my first attempt at building a map using an editor. There's a total of 5 secrets (one of them isn't labeled as a secret because I don't really consider it a secret). As I built sectors and placed actors, it helped me understand how the game works and why it works the way it does. Inspiration for this map comes from here, Adon, this map is a tribute to you.

By the way, the name of the map isn't something mythical, it's quite literally the first thing that came to my mind, go here to understand the origin of the name.

The player movement mod changes player speed from it's default value to 10.8.
As I playtested the map, I felt something off, and ultimately figured that Turok ran too fast! Playing with various other values I found that 10.8 hit the right spot.

Lastly the music update changes the vanilla Turok soundtrack to that of Darren Mitchell's original score, it also adds a custom track titled "Kiri.ogg" which plays in a special section of the map.

Rendering Optimizations and Bug Fixes
This particular update contains a lot of rendering optimizations from the upcoming XB1 port, which will mostly benefit DirectX (like instanced particles, batched shadow maps, etc). Numerous rendering glitches (whoops) has also been addressed.

AI Optimizations
Another major change to note is that parts of the AI is now multithreaded, which should benefit those who are CPU-bottlenecked. Any weird behavior or random crashes please report them ASAP.
NOTE: If for whatever reason that you want this disabled, you can set jobs_useTasks to 0.

New Multiplayer Gamemode
In addition to optimizations, there is a new multiplayer game mode called 'Raptor-Fest' which is a team-based game against hordes of enemy AI.

Quick Weapon Select
Next, a new feature called 'Quick Weapon Select' has been implemented. To use this feature, go into your bindings menu and assign a key to "Quick Weapon Select 1" and "Quick Weapon Select 2". For those who played the original, this is more or less the exact same thing, which makes it less a hassle to choose a weapon. On the quick select screen (by holding down the binded key), you can use the mouse to quickly select a weapon on the wheel (or thumbstick if using the gamepad).

Dedicated Server Support
Lastly, by popular demand, Turok 2 EX now has dedicated server support! A guide on using the dedicated server should be located in Steam/steamapps/common/Turok 2 Seeds of Evil folder. Name of this file is called "Turok2Ex Dedicated Server Guide.pdf" Edward850 will provide more info on this later.

This patch will go live in the official branch in about a week or so.
