I was confused when I first joined because I wasn't sure which team I was on and I had to check the scoreboard.

When you had the Charge Dart around 5:00 in that third video, I was a real bad shot with the pistol. xD

I subscribed to that channel, too.

I just checked and there is some ambient sounds in the original port and the n64, machinery in the background and things like that, big difference is how the n64 mixes them compared to the original port.

There's three ambient sounds in the remaster, first one echoes "this human", second one "primagen must not be stopped" and the last one I can't figure out.

In the port, they are generic echoes, roughly half a second long and you can sort of make out what they say if you listen closely, but in the n64 version, these echoes are sometimes drawn out for a couple of seconds and are mixed alongside the machinery sounds, so it's really hard to figure out what they say or if they are just generic ambient sound.

By the way, that fov slider from the remaster it's a godsend.

I noticed the "this human" one and the sound on the remaster is more noticeable.

Back when playing the N64 version and emulator, I never would've thought of it anything more than ambient machinery sounds.

That brings me to another thing... I didn't hear "it is inevitable" at the end credits.

For now theres the "network speed" option.

From what I could see, its exclusively works for whoever hosts the server.
Nope, clients and server. The resulting connection speed for a node on the server is the slowest configured speed between server<->client. So a server at 60Hz and client at 30Hz, the connection is at 30Hz for that client. If the server is at 30Hz, no client can be faster than 30Hz, but can still be lower.

I was playing through the rest of the Lightship, yesterday and wondered if anyone else noticed the ambient sounds of Oblivion?

If you use Duke's mod guide to open up the files with the "Developer 1" command (which I'm sure most of you already knew), you can find the sound file (Sounds > Wave) "OBLIVIONAMB01".

I love how his presence haunts the Lightship. After all, he wants Primagen to be freed so that the universe can be destroyed in the process. I'm not sure if I ever noticed in the N64 version, then lore was hard to come by and I just played the game.

That switch in the picture is not the one that disables part of the force field. The actual switches are past some area that requires you to have a talisman.

I'm loving this mod and I can even jump up in the Death Marsh trees! xD

How can I turn it off for single player game without taking it out of the folder?

I'd still like to play that normally and the wooden elevator jumps in the Lair are something I won't want to do at high speed. I always hated that part, though the game always had a jumping glitch. Remember when getting out of water use to make you run at a fast rate or was that only emulator? xD

Also, I think I may have to start a new game before even finishing... The second quadrant force field switch in the Lightship has been pressed, but the green energy is still flowing from that conduit.




I don't want to use the cheat just to get the key... FML!

Hopefully it's a visual glitch and I can still get it after the fourth quadrant. I've been playing this save file since the game was out and before updates... Maybe that's why it's glitched?

Back to the mod. I like this on multiplayer because you can easily dodge other players' gunfire and not get hit when running around a corner to cover. My survival was much better and I wasn't dying of one-shot kills every damn time I entered a fray with someone. I'm not one to coomplain about it (unlike some fool the other night, though that was pretty funny because he was mad as shit at all of us! xD), but I do hate one-shot deaths that are hard to avoid (like WTF just happened?).

With the fast paced mod, it's more fun and does require more faster thinking. I got some pretty good shots, too and running fast like the original Turok! xD

I dont think theres a fix for the ping you get when playing with someone from another region. Has always been like that for me in other games other than this one.

And I dont think upgrading yout internet speed makes a huge impact. I used to play a half-life1 online mod, and wethever my internet was 100kb/sec or 1MB/sec didnt matter a whole lot in the end.

Only way around this "could" be an option for p2p network, which I believe the online services of some games on consoles tend to use.

I'm not expecting it to be perfect if I get faster broadband, but at least a little bit more improved. My upload speed seems to be slow at times, especially uploading a PS4 game save to a PS+ cloud. I hope they're working on a server, as you mentioned. It might make weapons fire at their proper frame rates for everyone?

I forgot all about the PFM kill animation until you brought it up. When I was last playing single player before the update, I noticed how this weapon can be a bit useless at times and not even kill or hurt the smaller enemies (Mites & Workers) of the Hive. However, it was more effective on others players in multiplayer.

I like all the Dinosaurs, but my favourites are definitely the Theropods/Raptors/Tyrannosaurids.

Apart from T-Rex, there's also Spinosaurus and Carnotaurus. Anything that is Dragon like.

The Stegosaurus is probably my favourite plant eater.

If time travel to the past was even possible and safe, I would love to see them all.

Weapon Latency and Host Advantage

After testing this with Duke's match and then being the host of a match, I can say that latency is still a big issue and that the host can have the advantage over the players.

Plasma Rifle seems to have gotten worse after the update (my only complaint) and the shot is as delayed as what the Charge Dart was and still is. Being that I'm from Australia and most players are from other countries, this problem might occur more often for me. Usually when I join games, I get the short end.

IE: Getting one-shot or HP chipped down much faster by weapons that don't yield the same results when a non host uses them.

I have learned to adjust to it, but it's still an issue everyone is going to have. When testing this as the host, Plasma Rifle was working normal for me (as how it was, not being a host before the update). Even shotgun was a few frames quicker on my game... That hasn't changed and still fires good enough when not hosting.

The disadvantage that I often suffer was on Duke's end and even when Floob joined. Their pings were like what mine usually is. I know there will be more updates made, but I hope there's an eventual fix for the hosting because local players are hard to come by, if you're not from Europe or mainly the US. My Internet plan will probably be ungraded soon, so hopefully that also helps me.

Finally had a match tonight. I'm glad they fixed up a lot.

Firestorm Cannon always seemed weak when I used it, though not the same said when someone uses it against me... Plasma Rifle seems to fire a delayed shot like Charge Dart, now. Not sure if that's meant to happen? I still got some epic kills with it, it just took time to adjust and it is a pretty powerful weapon if you have a good aim.

I like that you can have auto weapon select off, but at the same time I'm missing it when I have to switch to the only weapon I picked up after spawn... xD I have my favourite weapons (Plasma & Shotgun) set to an ALT and SHIFT key for easy reach while using WASD keys, so it's good if I spawn near them. :P

I didn't even ping out, which was also good.
