Thanks for sharing this :s I remember this magazine from when I was a young gun :) Of course I do not own it anymore I like the enemies/creatures page there always fun to look at especially when they include little descriptions of them. Yeah this is making me want to go play some Turok 1 right now.

One of my favorite parts of this issue is that it shows off one of the enemies cut from the game. It's listed here as an "Iguana," but it's awfully huge if so. :P

Yeah if its an Iguana, then its a Godzilla Iguana. So he was cut out of the game? I think he looks cool and would of fit in fine. Always nice to see anyway I really like that cover photo Turok is so calm shooting an arrow at the rex :P

In the photo of the Iguana it looks more like a Komodo Dragon.

Check out the Brady Games official Strategy guide to, it has some cool pictures inside and is 128 pages :) But it doesn't have that big Iguana I surely would like a scan of him.

Thanks so much for putting the cover to :) Also, now being able to read the Iguana description it was obviously going to be a tough enemy. It says 5 grenade shots to take him out.

You know what he reminds me of though ? This picture below :)

The one without the cover is the September '96 issue (it says Volume 88 in the lower corner of a couple of the pages :P ).

These are nice finds. I like the older weapon wheel from the other issue and that the Knife and Tomahawk would have existed alongside each other. And the overly-large-"Iguana" rears its head yet again. ;D

I think I like that "Press Start" screen with a close-up of Tal'Set's face more than the one in the final game. It's so badass it could be a promotional render for KI Gold.

That stuff is awesome man thanks for scanning to! I wish somewhere it would uncover why in the heck we have Fireseed on the cover instead of Tal'set. I hope Turok Ex will use Japans main cover rather then ours. But most likely it wont i'm guessing.

I'm guessing it was a marketing decision. Acclaim's Turok comic was due to hit the stands the month after Dinosaur Hunter's release, and it's possible that somebody at Acclaim went "hey, we have this comic with this Fireseed guy, let's change the box art so that people will conflate the two." Pure speculation on my part, of course, but as I said, entirely possible. There's not much different between the two anyway.

Oh nice make up of it, a smaller resolution probably makes it look even better :)

Oh shit man that's nice dude *downloads* You guys are filling up my Turok folder space. I don't know, I think I like the alpha title screen better but you know this reminds me of a 95-96 title screen which is pretty cool though. Something similar to the Duke 3d press start screen :) Would of been nice if this showed up first and then it went on to do what the alpha does after you press start.

There's not much different between the two anyway.

But I think there is a pretty big difference between Tal'set and Fireseed. The name Joshua is not even tribal or native. Was fireseed born in the American city maybe? Tal'set is the most original because he is a true Native American in spirit, flesh, mind, and name.  Ehh just my opinion anyway :)

I was referring to the covers themselves, but it was admittedly poorly phrased. :P

Oh in that case my bad :) you know how context is hard to read clear all the time. Yeah all in all the two covers are pretty much identical just add some muscle to josh and give him long hair and boom you got identical covers :P
