I think by barebones he means there is no heavy scripting or changes to the mod. Basically means the vanilla level worked heh.  :raptoid:

So I'm sitting minding my own business today when my good friend "poof spell" messages me that he's been able to access files on his switch recently! Moreover, he was going to see if he could put in mods on his Switch version of Turok! You cannot believe the excitement I had, so I walked him through it and gave him mods to try out. Here's the results:



Our first success! We were able to get the Hi-Rez Water mod to work!

We tried to get Turok+ running, but he only got a black screen after the loading splash, and he was not able to get a keyboard working to get into console, unfortunately.

But, we managed to get Openworld working:





Except it didn't really work, and instead did something VERY bizarre.



Poof and I have our own theories on what happened here, but we're not 100% sure lol.

This does not mean that custom maps/campaigns are impossible, we used Jay Doom's barebones Demon Village, which worked out just fine!

If you want to be able to mod the switch yourself, well, I don't really know how to do that exactly. You will need an unlockable 1st gen switch with firmware that hasn't been updated, you will also have to follow a guide such as this: https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/

Why have all of dinosoid's posts been replaced with "."?
He's done it himself. He went into a crazy barrage of trying to delete his own posts and got banned for it as the constant .'s are seen as spam and deleting over 600+ messages is fucking stupid.
He's also done it today with all of his Discord chats and PM's. I asked him why and he refused to give a reason for it and said "I just did it" and that its not a big deal. :dizzy:

Another couple weeks have passed and I have more progress to update with!

All maps except the Final Map are done now. The last map is properly gated so you have to collect the nuke pieces before being able to blow your way past the gate (only the nuke works, assuming I have enough counter-measures set up for the average player), and I've found a couple ways to make the last level weirder than the rest have been in terms of fitting map pieces together and playing with sight-lines, rotation, and non-textured sides. I'm roughly halfway done with the last map, so finishing it and uploading it all should be happening pretty soon.

 Maybe another week or two depending on how much I can get done?
