Doom and quake are givens since those are 2 of the best shooters out there.

I would also recommend Painkiller, an arena based fps that's really fun.

Some others: Half Life series, Wolfenstein series, Serious Sam, Shadow Warrior

As Painkiller was mentioned, the "Hell and Damnation" version is good.

I think "Black Edition" is the original game.

I would say BLOOD, but the version sold on steam is just the regular game from forever with  a DOSbox emulator slapped on it. you even have to configure the controls yourself.

I hope you guys don't hate me for this but I do not like: classic wolfestein, Serious Sam, Shadow Warrior, Pain Killer, Fallout, Unreal, Postal, Ghost Recon & Rain Bow Six. Although I play them before. Alien vs Predator I love the one in the X-360. and the Halo games i like CE, Reach & ODST the rest are meh. Timesplitters and Turok Evolution I still have them on the gamecube and play them frequently i play evolution the most.

I have mix feelings 4 Alien vs Predator, Duke Nukem , Wolfestein are they really good? F.E.A.R. 3 is quite a bad game but not terrible. Also Quake 3 or Quake Live which one is better?

Here is the list of FPS i got

  • DOOM 3 & DOOM 3 BFG
  • WRACK
  • TIMESHIFT
  • QUAKE 4
  • PROJECT SNOWBLIND
  • Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi
  • Neon Shadow
  • Lovely Planet
  • Garry's Mod
  • F.E.A.R. & F.E.A.R. 2
  • Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon
  • DEADHUNT
  • CHASER
Thats kinda dissapointing but oh well.
My favourite halo ever is Halo: Combat Evolved. Best halo EVER. Halo 2 is great and i guess MAYBE 3? ODST i have very mixed feelings for and Reach is annoying. Even on the easiest settings, its fucking hard for no reason just cause youre not master chief but i guess same counts for ODST. Other halos can go fuck off.

Here's something I just came across about upcoming release and it looks phenomenal.

The original game PREY was awesome, it used id tech 4 engine. I have it somewhere here  ???

you know there was a game in development by id software called Enemy Territory, which they abandoned development on, and released to the public for FREE and it is multiplayer only and oh so much fun. You could search that out, I'll play with you, it's a ball. They later released Enemy Territory; Quake Wars which I bought but played very little. Nine! I think Serious Sam is on the list already that was fun but gets old after about your 4th or 5th time through. It's kind of silly gameplay but you kill a lot of stuff and that makes it fun. If you like to shoot stuff ... that's the game. The original Max Payne game was good, 3rd person shooter. It had some puzzles in it, conundrum type 'you must do this or game over' puzzles. It was the game with the Matrix type scene in it years before the first movie came out, and bullet time. Quake Champions is coming soon.
