I started on a Blood map today with some motivation from Doomed. Its only the start of the map as I spent lot of time reading hotkeys and setting up test play and gathering some tools. I will share links to the tools I use soon :) Make a Blood map was always one of my goals. So here we go.

Map no name yet

Going to feature some indoor and outdoors the layout is not done either hopeful to make big progress on this by Friday :)





Its basically nothing yet, I like to build the layout first and come back with layers of details and set areas that make them bolder later on though.

Very primitive interface but advanced features for the time.

Primitive tool for a primitive style guy xD But yeah exactly right there.

I have played it but I never played much. Even know it is a awesome game. I'm going to get it again and play more some day. Map looks cool

I never looked much into the betas and alphas but I have seen some footage of the alpha before. That's cool! did they really?

Got to love Bloods color schemes I like the brownish colors there. Good luck.

Quickly launch the blood editor MAPEDIT and get tools that help here.

Inside your gameroot there is a dosbox folder. go in there find dosbox.exe right click it. create a shortcut put the shortcut back in the main gameroot.. drag mapedit.exe on to the dosbox shortcut. Don't make a bunch of dosbox exe's xD

Now get this tool because it allows us to transfer between editor and playing your map with clicks of buttons.

Get Ini Mini also this makes it really easy to set up the music and even set up an episode layout with a few maps and stuff.

I got the game on gog. I opened the editor just to see and it really is old school. I don't want to make a map just wanted to see it. But i'm playing the game. When you finish your map i can play.

Swing Door
Room over Room
Water/underwater
Exploding walls

Not much building mostly learning how the effects work out. Here's a preview.



 Its really nice to see the differences from Blood and Duke from the editors perspective.

That looks bad ass already though. Wow Bloods room over room feature is pretty amazing another example how advanced it was at the time... even to this day that feature on this type of editor is crazy.
